Young and the Restless Spoilers Thursday, January 3: Nikki Newman’s Confession Plan – Reed and Charlie Come Clean – Nick’s Challenge

“Young and the Restless” spoilers for Thursday, January 3, tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be riled up. At the hospital, Nikki finds out Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been charged with J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder. She rages over Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) putting the focus on Victor instead of searching for the person who set the fire or ran her down.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) vows to go see Victor and do whatever he can to help. He just wants Nikki to concentrate on getting better. Nikki pushes Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to go with her brother, so they both end up at the police station. Victor has a visit with Victoria and Nick, but he doesn’t seem concerned about the charges. He argues that they’ll be dropped sooner or later.

Once Victoria exits, Victor asks Nick if he’s behind J.T.’s death. Nick thinks that’s crazy, but Victor notes that his son hacked Newman and impersonated the victim. The topic of the fire at the stables also comes up. Nick insists that he wouldn’t scare Nikki like that and Victor decides he believes him. Since Victor’s locked up, he urges Nick to do some digging and discover who set the blaze.

Meanwhile, Jill Atkinson (Jess Walton) returns to town with surprising news. She explains that she hit a rough patch with Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), so they’re on a break. Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) is disappointed to hear that. He beats himself up about being a bad husband and father, but Jill doesn’t think that’s true. She just thinks Cane needs to prove he can be a positive role model.

At Victoria’s house, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has a chat with Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu). They reflect on guilt, which Billy understands since he left Delia (Sophia Pollono) in the car alone before she got hit. Talk also turns to Victor’s murder charges. Reed wants to believe his grandpa is innocent, but he isn’t so sure. Billy suggests Reed needs more facts before he makes a decision.

Afterward, Victoria’s grateful that Billy’s been so supportive of Reed. They bring up their kiss and drop hints about a reunion. In the end, they determine that they’d better think about it. Cane comes in soon after and suggests that the boys need to make a confession. He wants Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Reed to go tell Nikki the truth.

Cane and Victoria are on hand for the teens’ admissions at the hospital. Reed and Charlie recap the whole story with great remorse. They’re sorry about not going back to check the scene. Nikki is sorry as well since she was drinking and wasn’t watching what she was doing. They all choose forgiveness and Nikki suggests their parents can handle their punishment, not the cops.

In a moment alone with Victoria, Nikki tells her daughter she wants to confess, too. She feels it’s time to come clean about killing J.T. Back with Jill, she meets up with Billy and finds out about his holiday fun with Victoria. Jill is pleased and doesn’t think Billy should let this opportunity pass him by.
