‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Won’t Back Down As Lola Fights For Kyle

Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) has made her feelings known to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) on the Young and the Restless. She doesn’t want him to be with Summer Abbott (Hunter King), who surely won’t back down at this point in the game.

Summer has known Kyle forever, which in the soap world means since 2012 when King began to portray the SORASed character. Since that time, various actors have portrayed Kyle, with Mealor’s tenure starting in 2018. Calle’s cast debut occurred last year as well.

Miss Rosales arrived in Genoa City as part of a complete family write-in. With two members of the Rosales family departing, it appears as though Lola will stay. That’s good news for fans of this endearing character.

Y&R’s most recent behind-the-scenes shift has its new decision-makers adjusting the cast, changing the trajectory of various storylines, and creating fresh takes as well. One tale that’s now in flux is the revived battle between Skyle and Kola.

Devoted viewers knew, as did the characters, that the love match between Lola and Kyle hadn’t ended. No, Lola’s need for a liver and Summer’s partially selfless organ donation of it simply paused Kola. With both ladies’ recoveries feeling generally rushed, the Kyle-based conflict has returned in full force.

With her strength back, Lola also sports an advanced attitude. Not fully mimicking Summer, but more confident in what, or who she wants, Lola is now telling Kyle that he shouldn’t spend any more romantic time with Summer. That translates to an ultimatum, which spins this triangle anew.

Kyle remains conflicted, though he knows that Lola’s throw-down of the gauntlet forces another coming choice to be made. The armored glove reference might seem most suited to a Game of Thrones piece, but it’s fully fair to claim that Lola has chosen to fight for Kyle, who she sees as her man.

Summer is likely to respond to this challenge as fiercely as her mother, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) has done in somewhat similar instances through the years, dating back to (and soon to return), Michelle Stafford’s edition of Phyllis. Meanwhile, Kyle will remain stuck between Summer and Lola, which assumes that their interest in him doesn’t wane in time.
