The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Dr. Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) career is in jeopardy as he faces the medical board and their questions in an upcoming episode of The Young and The Restless!
Nate will not be in the hearing alone, he does have Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) representing him and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has already assured him that he will be glad to give positive testimony if needed, and take the blame for the predicament he put Nate in by faking his own death! The last thing Nate expected was for the medical board to threaten to take away his medical license and privileges to practice medicine over helping Victor to fake his death, but the fact is, Nate did falsify some medical records in the process so that the death of Victor would appear to be real!
He sent the paramedics away when they came, since he had already checked Victor himself and declared him dead. He then filed paperwork indicating that Victor had died, and even brought the police in on it, with Chief Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) even believing that Victor had died of an overdose because his son Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) had a pharmacist make double-dose pills of the experimental medicine he was on for his rare blood disease.
Dr. Nate Hastings’ friends do not necessarily think that he made a good decision in hiring Amanda to represent him. Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) in particular doesn’t trust Amanda; after all, Amanda is the one who represented the rip-off artist that took Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) inheritance away from him, even though the two pages of Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will were authenticated.
But it would be too late for Nate to look for another attorney to represent him even if he wanted to! Nate of course, is worried because if the board didn’t see things his way, no matter who he has in his corner or how well he is legally represented, he could lose his job and his reputation in the medical community in one fell swoop!
The day of Nate’s review before the medical board arrives, and he is no less nervous. He is willing to admit wrongdoing but hopes that the people making the decisions that could affect his life and livelihood will see that there were mitigating circumstances, and that this is a first-time lapse in judgment, not something he does on a regular basis or would ever consider doing again.
Amanda has her defense prepared and character witnesses such as Victor and possibly some other patients of Nate’s and some of his personal friends at the ready to testify in his behalf. This is not like a criminal or civil court where there is a prosecutor who could discredit Amanda or anyone else involved in the case, but Nate will remain on edge in any case, until he knows that the board understands and have cleared him to continue practicing medicine!
