The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate writers are trying to come up with a storyline to explain Neil Winter’s (Kristoff St. John) absence.

It’s been almost three weeks since St. John’s death. Support from cast mates, fans, and everyone in the soap community flooded social media.

His death sent shockwaves across the soap opera world and it also had fans wondering what would happen to Neil’s character.

The last time Neil was seen on screen was during a launch party for Hamilton Winters. He was there to support Devon (Bryton James) and Ana (Loren Lott) as they planned the debut of Fen Baldwin’s (Zach Tinker) new single.

Young And The Restless – Tribute To St. John To Air In April

That was the final episode for Neil and St. John. Y&R plans to do a tribute episode to the actor in April, but until then fans are wondering how they’ll address Neil’s absence.

In recent months, Neil had been dealing with Lily’s (Christel Khalil) imprisonment over the death of Hilary (Mishel Morgan) and her baby. Neil had also been helping Cane (Daniel Goodard) with Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson).

It’s also been hinted that when Lily was transferred to a different prison, Neil moved to a nearby city so he could be closer to her. He had also been making trips back and forth to Genoa City. Writers are still working out Neil’s tribute episode, but it’s believed they’ll explain his absence by having him continue making trips to see his daughter.

As for how they’ll write the character off the show remains to be seen, although it is believed they’ll write Neil’s death into Y&R, which will lead to a memorial.

St. John’s death has hit Y&R hard, and it’s going to be difficult to say goodbye to his character. But Y&R will write a proper explanation for Neil’s absence and give the character and his portrayer a proper sendoff.
