With the news that Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) is finally returning to The Young and the Restless (Y&R), fans are hoping other favorites will also make a comeback, now that the leadership at Y&R has changed. That includes Greg Rikaart, who played Kevin Fisher.
When Greg sent Doug his congratulations over Twitter, Doug’s reply sent fans into a frenzy. Greg told Doug that he is glad he is back where he belongs. Doug replied, “I don’t suppose you’d consider…”
Young And The Restless Spoilers Fans Want Rikaart Back
And fans have started tweeting that Rikaart should return too. Even Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), who had been instrumental in Davidson’s comeback, said that Rikaart is a great actor and it was “downright irresponsible” to let him go.
Management decided not to renew Rikaart’s contract in 2017 after he had played Kevin for 14 years. The character returned briefly in 2018 but left the show again.

When he announced his departure in 2017, he wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram about how playing Kevin had mirrored his real life and how grateful he was to the cast and crew. It only started with a two-week stint.

“At the moment it is unclear what lies ahead for Kevin and I, as we will be saying goodbye to Genoa City for a while,” Rikaart wrote on Instagram in May 2017. “I am sad to leave a place I hold so dear but also really excited about what the future holds.”
Y&R Spoilers Return Of Kevin Fisher Unclear
Kevin left Genoa City with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to raise her daughter in another town. But since Head Writer Josh Griffith and Executive Producer Tony Morina took the reins recently, will Greg be able to reprise his role as Kevin? We sure hope so, but nothing’s certain as of now. In addition, Rikaart is doing well, with his role as Leo on Days of Our Lives, and he even recently booked a guest role in “Modern Family” as an OB/GYN.
