“Young and Restless” spoilers for Friday, February 22, tease that some hot drama’s ahead. In the courtroom, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) wants Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to stick to one version of events. He doesn’t like the fact that their stories have holes in them and don’t exactly match up.
Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) hugs Sharon (Sharon Case) and confesses that she spoke with Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell). She just hopes her interrogation didn’t make matters worse for her mom. Mariah expresses concern about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who tells Nikki he wishes he was in her place. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) also arrives to support Victoria.
Over with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), he’s agitated when Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) doesn’t want to attend the arraignment. Nick doesn’t understand why Phyllis wouldn’t go be there for the rest of the cover-up crew. Once Phyllis reluctantly gets on board, she notifies Christine by phone that she’s on her way.
Back at the courthouse, Nick and Phyllis are seated with the other onlookers. Christine lets the judge know she’s got physical proof and a star witness in Phyllis. Nick’s aghast and makes his displeasure known during a recess. Victor warns Phyllis that if Victoria and Nikki go down for this, she’ll have to answer to him.

Michael complains to Christine that Phyllis isn’t reliable and should’ve been charged instead. Mariah also gripes to Sharon, who thinks the secret spillage was inevitable. Once court resumes, the women are arraigned. Nikki pleads not guilty to intentional second-degree homicide and obstruction of justice. Next, Sharon and Victoria follow Nikki’s lead with their not guilty pleas.
Christine rants about the ladies being flight risks, so the judge denies bail. At the GCPD, Rey sees the coat Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) was wearing she was attacked. He doesn’t recognize it and assumes it doesn’t belong to her. Meanwhile, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) reaches out to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). He hopes she can convince Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) to let him see Lola.

Abby gives it her best shot, but Arturo stands his ground. He notes that Kyle can only see Lola if she wakes up and asks for him. Mia makes another appearance to boo-hoo near Lola’s bedside. She hates that she can’t turn back the clock and fix this. Abby ends up embracing Mia later as they both wish that night had gone differently.
Afterward, Rey joins Mia at home and asks questions about her heated argument with Abby. Mia changes the subject and contends that maybe someone targeted Lola because of Rey. She suggests maybe his job had something to do with it, but Rey doesn’t buy that. Nevertheless, he assures Mia that justice will be served.

Back with Kyle, he gets a visit from a frustrated Summer Newman (Hunter King). She feels like Kyle made Rey believe she was guilty. Kyle counters that he just revealed what he knew and adds that he’s also a suspect. He worries about Lola, but Summer doesn’t get his obsession with a woman who constantly rejects him.
Summer admits she loves Kyle, but he isn’t sure she can tell the difference between love and attraction. However, Summer promises that’s how she feels and it’s not going to change. Will Kyle ever come around or will Lola remain firmly in his heart?
