Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) believes that he knows Summer Abbott (Hunter King) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) on the Young and the Restless. But that’s not true. Mr. Abbott is misguided in thinking that he’s an expert on anyone other than himself.

The self-centered personality of this guy is driven, in large part, by the lengths Summer has gone to win him over and because of Lola’s ability to compartmentalize what Kyle’s doing. However, the potential now exists for both Summer and Lola to give Kyle the boot.

Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) younger, playboy version of himself has been sharply written into Genoa City. While the various actors who’ve played Kyle through the years have all been good, it’s arguable to assert that Mealor is the best. This actor’s performances are consistently outstanding, striking the great balance between attitude and vulnerability.

Mealor’s chops are allowed to shine through King’s terrific embrace of who Summer has become in 2019. She’s no longer the selfish brat she’d willingly become upon her return to Genoa City last June. Today’s Summer is actually a good soul who loves Kyle so much that she donated half of her liver to Lola. That was a mega turning point in the evolution of King’s character.

Calle is, again arguably, the best breath of fresh air to blow into GC in years. Living La Vida Lola was more than a food truck business, it was a statement about entrepreneurship and the unique American spirit. It also marked an apparent contrast between Summer and Miss Rosales.

Both of Y&R’s dynamic young ladies will realize that they deserve to be Kyle’s one and only. Each person isn’t pursuing a life based on work alone, which represents an empty goal. Summer and Lola appear to want a husband and eventually, children.

But that means Kyle needs to catch up to either one of them and stop playing both women against each other.

Summer and Lola must stand strong and force Kyle to choose, or jointly tell him to move along. An alternative reality could easily arise, where both ladies had another guy and Kyle was the other choice.
