The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sean Carrigan, the actor who played Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn, will not be returning to the CBS soap opera.

Several years ago, he disappeared after his marriage to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) didn’t work out. They tried their best, but with a mentally ill child and a demanding job, Stitch and Abby couldn’t make it work. Here’s what you need to know.

No matter how much the Y&R fans want him to come back, it looks like Sean isn’t going to return as Stitch. He has several other acting gigs going. The actor said last year that Y&R hasn’t asked him to reprise his role, despite fans wanting to see him again.

In the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Sean told the publication that unless something drastically changes in his life, he will not be returning to the soap opera. So, if they want Stitch to come back, they would likely need to recast the role.

Many Y&R fans have pointed out that Abby’s involvement with the male lead actors is a kiss of death. They pointed out that she was involved with Stitch, married him, and it wasn’t long after and he vanished from the show.

Most recently, she agreed to marry Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela). It was recently revealed that he slept with his brother’s wife and Abby broke up with him. Just a few days after that, the actor tweeted that he decided to take a break from the show.
