Young And The Restless News: Michael Mealor and Sasha Calle Reveal Kola’s Future

Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle) are the newest couple on the Young and the Restless. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Mealor and Calle talked about their chemistry together and their characters’ romance.

The pair said it was like a match made in heaven. When Calle auditioned and tested with Mealor for the role of Lola, he knew the role was made for her. He also felt an instant chemistry with Calle.

“Right off the bat, I was very comfortable with Sasha,” Mealor said. “The rest of the girls were lovely, but what stood out with Sasha is from the moment we met, we were just at ease.”

Young And The Restless – Casting Knew Calle Was Perfect For The Role

Mealor added that everyone from casting to the producers felt that Calle fit the role. And just 40 minutes after the test, Calle learned she’d landed the gig.

“I was at The Grove when my agency called,” she recalled. “People must’ve thought I was crazy because I was sobbing.”

Mealor has been Calle’s guide since her first working day, and they found it quite easy to work with each other. They became comfortable with each other and found their rhythm.

“As we saw their relationship build on-screen, our relationship was building as well off-screen,” Mealor added.

Calle revealed that they always run lines together, even on FaceTime, which has helped them to get to know each other better.  She also said they don’t leave each other guessing.

Young And The Restless – Kyle And Lola’s Relationship Put To The Test

Now that Kyle and Lola have been together for six months, their relationship is being tested. The honeymoon phase is slowly fading, and it’s time to see how strong this couple could get, especially now that Summer (Hunter King) is back in town.

In addition, Mealor said he wants to see Kyle involved in the business side of the new restaurant Lola is developing with Devon (Bryton James) and Abby (Melissa Ordway). Calle, meanwhile, is trusting the writers and what they could bring for Lola and Kyle this year.

Lola and Kyle have hit a rough patch since Summer’s return to Genoa City. Lola was attacked and is lying unconscious in a hospital bed, and her siblings won’t let Kyle see her. Will they come out even stronger together after this storm?
