Young And The Restless News: Melody Thomas Scott Celebrates 40 Years And Speaks Fondly of Kristoff St. John

Melody Thomas Scott has played Nikki on The Young and the Restless for 40 years. She celebrated that milestone with an appearance on The Talk and also honored the life of her friend, Kristoff St. John (Neil), who recently passed away.

Thomas Scott’s iconic character’s pairing with Victor (Eric Braeden) allowed Y&R’s greatest couple of all-time, ‘Niktor’, to form. Together, she and Braeden have gone on to project on-screen chemistry that remains rooted in collegiality.

Surviving for an extensive length of time in any part of the entertainment industry is something most actors hope to achieve. While this actor is most recognized for her role as Nikki, Thomas Scott’s career began in 1964, when she played a young Marnie in the movie of the same name.

Y&R’s reigning leading lady has an extensive professional resume, appearing in various television series including: Wagon Train, Ironside, The Waltons, Charlie’s Angels, The Rockford Files, Eight Is Enough, Diagnosis Murder, and Castle. She’s also had roles in various feature films, most notably The Shootist, which was John Wayne’s final big screen appearance.

Melody Thomas married Edward Scott in 1985, who was a producer on Y&R at the time. He advanced to the show’s executive producer and later, supervising producer. Scott has been serving as the supervising producer of Y&R’s spinoff show, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, since 2011.
