Young And The Restless News: Justin Hartley Cast In Controversial New Thriller

Justin Hartley, who played Adam Newman on the Young and the Restless, has been cast in a new film called The Hunt. He will star along with Emma Roberts and Glenn Howerton.

There is no official plot summary released, but according to Deadline, the thriller “explores escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America.”

The Hunt is from Universal Studios and is written by Nick Cuse (The Leftovers) and Damon Lindelof (Lost). The politically charged film is directed by Craig Zobel, who helmed Z for Zachariah, and is produced by Jason Blum and Lindelof. Zobel and Cuse are also executive producers.

Other cast members include Hans Marrero, Yosef Kasnetzkov, Iyad Hajjaj, and Ned Yousef.

Hartley currently stars on NBC’s primetime drama series This Is Us, which is now on its third season. His role as Kevin Pearson has earned him a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2018.

He left the Young and the Restless in 2016 after he booked his prime-time role on This Is Us, and Y&R fans have been hoping for his return to reprise the role of Adam. Back then, Hartley did not rule out the possibility of coming back if his schedule permits. However, Y&R is now recasting the character.

Hartley has also appeared in other movies since he left his Y&R role. He starred in Bad Mom’s Christmas in 2017 and in Another Time in 2018, along with his wife Chrishell Hartley (Jordan Ridgeway, Days of Our Lives). He will be seen next on Little, a movie which will be out in theaters in April.

Emma Roberts returned for the eighth season of American Horror Story: Apocalypse as Madison Montgomery. Her recent films include Billionaire Boys Club, Little Italy, and Paradise Hills.

Glenn Howerton, meanwhile, can be seen on NBC’s comedy A.P. Bio. He also stars on FX sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Howerton is also known for his roles in The Mindy Project, Fargo, and House of Lies.

The Hunt is scheduled to hit theaters on October 18.
