Young And The Restless News Eileen Davidson Talk Y&R Exit And If She’d Ever Return

“Young and the Restless” (Y&R) star Eileen Davidson sat down with Soap Opera Digest and she talked about the reason she left the CBS soap opera and if she would consider coming back. She wanted to clear up the misinformation that she left because of Mal Young’s writing on the soapy series. Read below to find out what she had to say.

Y&R Spoilers Eileen’s Decision To Leave The Show

Davidson said that she decided to leave the show a year before she actually exited. She was on contract and had to wait until it expired. She started talking with her family about leaving the show as she felt it was time for a change. She added when she decided to leave Mal Young wasn’t writing for the show, so his presence had nothing to do it.

The actress said that her decision was a hard one. She began to have trouble going in to work daily. The days were longer and longer. She was exhausted all the time and her whole life became memorizing the lines every day. She wanted a change, something that didn’t take so many hours a week.

She told Young about her decision and he was supportive but stressed about her exit. She appreciates Mal for giving her a great exit storyline and making it possible for her to return if she wants too.

Young and The Restless Spoilers Will Ashley Come Back To GC?

Eileen said that she is open to returning for a small arc but she isn’t interested in coming back fulltime anymore. She added that she told Young she understood if they needed to recast the role. She said if the timing was right, she would love to come back to Y&R or Days of Our Lives, but for just a short storyline.
