The verdict in the J.T Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) murder case came in and it was a whopper – guilty on all counts. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was sentenced to a grand total of 30 years in jail.
Coincidentally, that is exactly how long Thomas Scott has starred on the Young and The Restless (Y&R). Was that a clever little nod from the writers?
Her Coven co-conspirators were also sentenced to lengthy jail terms. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) got three years and daughter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) received a 10-year sentence. Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni), the mastermind behind the idea of covering up the murder instead of calling the police, got to walk away scot-free, as usual.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Literally Gets Away With Murder
Is anyone else sick of watching Phyllis get away with murder on Y&R? In this case, it was covering up a murder. In 1994, it was attempted murder, when she ran down Christine and Paul Williams (Lauralee Bell, Doug Davidson) with her car on their wedding day. One would like to believe Phyllis will get hers one day, and here’s hoping that day is coming soon.
The women are devastated by their harsh verdicts of course, and the men in their lives have vowed to appeal it.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) even upped the ante, suggesting J.T. was alive and he would find him. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) agreed to help. Add Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to the hunt for J.T. and now we’ve got the Y&R’s Three Amigos.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Wedding Bells For The Snowflake
In the wake of such a tragic outcome, the ever-selfless Summer Newman (Hunter King), rushed to make wedding plans, even though her grandmother had just been sent to jail for the rest of her life. Part of her excuse is it will provide a happy event for the Newmans and Abbotts.
Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) was suspicious of the quickie wedding. She couldn’t understand how Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could seemingly turn on a dime. She can’t believe Kyle has abandoned a girl he professed to love in order to marry a schemer. She’s pretty sure Summer is Lola’s liver donor but only agreed to do it if she and Kyle got married.

Part of Kyle’s deal with Summer was that their nuptials would be in name only. But he didn’t hesitate to consummate their marriage when they got up to the honeymoon suite and Summer started to undress. All those frustrating months of dating a virgin must have gotten to Kyle! We can all see where this is heading – will Summer end up getting pregnant? Stay tuned to the Y&R!
