Wendy Benson Joins Cast of The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless welcomes another member into its family. Wendy Benson Landes has been cast as Mallory, and she debuted her character on June 18 in an episode where she shared scenes with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in Chancellor Park.

This is not Landes’ first gig in soapland. She appeared on As the World Turn as Meredith Delaney in 1992.

Viewers may recall that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) asked Jack if he wants to be his best man. Jack accepted and gave his son a hug. Later that day, he will meet a woman whom he will eventually ask out for a date. Jack may finally find love in Mallory and when that happens, Lauren Fenmore’s (Tracey Bregman) wish for the Abbott heir will finally come true.

Although it’s true that he may have had a fling with Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter), that cannot compare to the love he has found in the past. He is one of those characters who deserve to be loved and to find love. Could Mallory be the woman who will make his heart beat again?

Mallory and Jack know each other by face from the memory care facility. Call it coincidence but Mallory’s dad lives close to Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams). Because of this, the pair shares something in common. They both know the struggles that come with taking care of an ailing parent.

They will confide in each other and the simple talk they share in the park will lead to coffee, an impromptu date with Lauren and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), and then an official date. Will this be the beginning of a new love story? The pair could make a good couple. But since this is “The Young and the Restless,” there might eventually be a twist to their love story.

Benson-Landes has appeared in several television shows. She appeared as Taylor in I’ll Fly Away, Lorna Louise in Muscle, Misty in Secret Service Guy, Barbara Caufield in Unhappily Ever After, and Colleen Henderson in Desperate Housewives. Her other movie credits include Pretty Poison, Wishmaster, Still Breathing, Where’s Marlowe, Luck of the Draw, James Dean, Beacon Hill, The Inner Circle, and Burlesque.
