The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Phyllis Keeps Pushing – What Happened In Vegas Didn’t Stay In Vegas

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) knows she’s onto something on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has been playing off her persistence since Phyllis first mentioned that she knew he was connected to Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz).

Adam’s offer of ten million dollars, in the form of a check given to Phyllis at the penthouse earlier this month, confirmed that whatever he’s linked to is significant. Phyllis ripped the check into pieces in front of his face, choosing instead to gamble, as ‘Spider’ did in Las Vegas, Nevada, for an unknown amount of time. She believes that Adam hasn’t changed and will revert to form.

Phyllis’ initial play was to ingratiate herself with Adam, who was initially bent on revenge against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). That worked until the death hoax broke the vengeful trance Adam put himself into.

While he initially returned to Vegas and planned on reviving his ‘Spider’ life, Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) crisis caused Adam to rebound to Genoa City, Wisconsin, a handful of episodes later. After he did, Phyllis learned that her intended trouble-making partner dropped existing plans to take over Newman Enterprises and sell it off in pieces.

Phyllis became infuriated with Adam’s genuine change of heart, as she lost the only ally who could have helped her stick it to Victor and the Newman family, who she feels treated her badly after the Dark Horse gesture was made.

Since Chance works for the authorities, it’s possible that Adam served as some type of freelance operative. Possibly, he was helping to root out corruption at the casinos.

However, both men’s reference to the messes they escaped in the recent past could also indicate that personal, rather than professional troubles were shared. It’s always possible that romantic interests went awry and one guy helped the other. The again, maybe some big-time gamblers were simply crossed.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Trying To Move Forward While Being Pested

Adam considers Phyllis to be a pest. He’s sincerely trying to be a good father to Connor and not allow himself to succumb to the pull of dysfunctional Newman family dynamics.

Phyllis is a bit different since the recast from Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) to the original ‘Red’, Stafford, occurred. This edition has drifted for a number of months, without a significant other and in attempting to rebuild her career.

Chance is leery of Phyllis and doesn’t think she can be easily handled, like Adam does. Chance’s assessment seems spot on, while Adam’s underestimation could hinder whatever his new plan is, or will become. With whatever develops, Phyllis won’t back off.
