Often times, in an unbalanced relationship, one person will be proclaimed the so-called “better half”. That soapy sentiment doesn’t reflect a balanced relationship, as evidenced by the raised individual remaining silent when that undeserved full glory is announced to whoever is in the audience.

Lola needs to keep herself grounded and not buy into pushed stereotypes, where Kyle is the wayward man in need of her instinctive wisdom. Equally, Kyle needs to continue resisting the false shine of the Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) of the world, as Lola’s sincere heart reflects pure beauty.

Getting engaged is impulse easy. But a leading reason why marriage isn’t set the next day is because of the implied delay.

Sure ‘Kola’ has been a couple for awhile. Their public commitment allows everyone know that they’re in love. But an engagement announcement and ring, no matter how small (or large) the setting, doesn’t ensure that vows will be said, realized, and then lived.

Kyle wants to marry Lola because he loves her like no other woman he’s known. Lola agrees to accept Kyle’s proposal because, like him, she intends to formalize life as ‘Kola’.
