The Young and the Restless Spoilers Tuesday, December 31: Nick Drops Bomb, Chelsea Rages Over Adam’s Proposition – Phyllis Repairs Damage

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, December 31, tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to repair some damage. At the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis has summoned Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about trying to fix their friendship. After a brief Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) interruption, Phyllis steers the conversation back to making amends. She’s sorry for being so horrible to Jack and is moved when Jack insists they’re indeed pals.

At Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) house, he stuns Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) by divulging Adam’s latest scheme. Adam urged Phyllis to seduce Nick, so Chelsea eventually accepts this info and decides to confront Adam alone. At Adam’s place, Chelsea barges in and suggests Adam shouldn’t deny it. Adam confesses to his cheap move, but he can’t undo it now. He protests that he was just desperate to fix things and thought this would accelerate Chelsea’s split from Nick.

Adam declares that he loves Chelsea, but she thinks he’s confused about his feelings. Chelsea wants Adam to stop chasing the past, but Adam encourages Chelsea to admit she loves him to. They debate the trust issues between them, but Adam feels he’s the one who can make Chelsea feel whole.

Back at the Grand Phoenix, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) talks to “Chance” Chancellor (Donny Boaz) about his future. She’s taken aback to learn Chance is heading his career in a different direction and intends to stay in town. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) steals Chance for a second, so Jill can guess why he’s sticking around. She jokes about meddling in Chance’s personal life.

Later, Chance gets flirty with Abby as he agrees to be her New Year’s Eve date. He notes that it’ll be two dates since they’ll be together at midnight. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, he welcomes Jill for a visit. They discuss Devon’s first Christmas without Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) as well as his upcoming trip to London with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).

Next, Devon and Jill discuss Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers). Jill’s apologetic about the con and promises Devon will get his fortune back. However, Devon suggests it’s not even about the money anymore. This is about disrespecting Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) final wishes. Cane Ashby’s (Daniel Goddard) name comes up, but Devon still doesn’t know for sure Cane’s on the right side. He just knows whoever’s involved in this is going to pay.

At Jabot, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) listens to Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) pitch a contest plan. After Kyle compliments Theo on doing a good job, Theo assumes that must’ve been hard for him. Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) brings them some takeout soon after and admits Theo spent some time serving as her taste-tester.

Theo and Summer eventually watch Lola kissing Kyle – both clearly stuck pining for the ones they want. Summer and Theo irritate each other about that briefly before Theo ultimately clashes with Kyle. In a private moment, Kyle brings up some notes on the pitch. Theo contends that Kyle would do anything to bring him down. Their argument revs up when Theo mentions New York, but Jack arrives and wants to speak with Kyle alone.

At the coffeehouse, Nick brings Phyllis up to speed on what he told Chelsea. He’s convinced Adam will try to minimize the damage with Chelsea. Phyllis cracks a joke or two before Summer shows up and sees her parents together.

Once Nick is gone, Summer seems wary of Phyllis going after her dad again. Phyllis shuts down the idea, but Y&R fans know love can be a funny thing in Genoa City!
