Summer has hit a rough patch in her life due to her ex Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). After learning that she was a donor match for Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) liver transplant, Kyle agreed to marry Summer so she would go through with the surgery.

The surgery was a success and it looked like Kyle was going to honor his marriage vows to Summer, but his heart belonged to Lola. After asking Summer for a divorce, Kyle proposed to Lola.

While Summer is using alcohol and partying to unwind after her break up with Kyle, she may be doing damage to her body.

The more Summer drinks, the more damage she’s going to do to her liver, which is going to lead to her hospitalization. Summer’s health crisis is going to bring her parents Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to her bedside. Summer and her mother have been at odds lately, but Summer’s crisis could be the thing to repair the relationship between mother and daughter.

Plus, this could also be the thing to make Kyle realize his true feelings for Summer and realize that he made a mistake in ending their marriage.
