Y&R Spoilers: Chance Chancellor Has Decided To Stay In Genoa City

Chance has decided to stay in Genoa City, undoubtedly being influenced by his new love interest, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). It has been a long time since he was settled down anywhere for a while and not always on a mission to capture some bad guy.

Chance still wants to stay in law enforcement and catch bad guys, he just doesn’t want to have to be on the road and all over the country, and sometimes the world, to do it. He will go to Police Chief Paul Williams and talk to him about a job working for them and see what it would take and how he would go about it.

Young And The Restless Spoilers: Experience Shouldn’t Be A Problem, Chance Chancellor Has Plenty Of it

Experience shouldn’t be a problem, Chance has plenty of it. He has been in the FBI for several years, but he’s tired of travelling all the time and wants to settle down in one place. Police work in Genoa City may not be as exciting or as glamorous as being an FBI agent, but as he explained to Abby one day, it often isn’t all that exciting or glamorous most of the time anyway – sometimes it’s just downright boring, when doing surveillance and nothing happens. It’s like fishing all day long and not even getting a bite! Fishermen refer to that as “getting skunked!” And for good reason – it stinks!

When Chance and Paul get together to discuss the possibility of Chance joining the Genoa City Police, he notes when Chance recently “dropped in” to stop the hostage situation at The Grand Phoenix when he took down Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) who he had been tracking for several months . Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Chance crawled through an air duct and dropped down practically on top of Simon, knocking him to the floor and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) got Simon’s gun away from him.

Y&R Spoilers:Chief Paul Williams Will Question Chance Chancellor If He’s Really Ready To Stay Put

Paul will ask Chance, since in the past Chance has had the reputation of not staying in one place for very long, if he’s sure he’s really ready to settle down and stay put in one place. Chance notes that his job has tended to hinder his forming any relationships, obviously thinking of romantic relationships since it looks like Abby is his inspiration for hanging around Genoa City.

However, Genoa City is where his roots and his family are and that is also a big motivation. The life of an FBI agent chasing criminals around the country and sometimes the world can be a pretty lonely one, with no chance to form close relationships. Chance assures Paul he’s ready to stay put if he’ll put him to work!
