The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is constantly and secretly being tormented over the fact that beautiful young attorney Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) looks so much like his ex, Hilary Curtis (also played by Mishael Morgan). And because of this, Devon is having a very hard time focusing on his current relationship with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). Here’s what you need to know.

Speaking to Soaps in Depth in a new interview, actress Brytni Sarpy, who plays Elena on the show says that Amanda has been Devon’s secret torment and because of this, the two of them can’t move forward in their relationship.

“Devon and Elena’s first falling out was when he was having issues seeing Hilary as a ghost, and I think this is incredibly reflective of that time,” muses the actress, “It’s like Part 2 – we are essentially dealing with Hilary again. I think in Elena’s head, she sees Amanda and Hilary almost as the same person, and she is causing her boyfriend pain.”

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will have a conversation with Elena, which will prompt her to take a different look into her relationship with Devon. Of course, Devon doesn’t appreciate the fact that the doctor is meddling into his personal affairs.

Bryton James, who plays Devon, says, “It annoys him that the only reason that Amanda had decided to stick around was because she was helping Nate keep his medical license. There were other people that Nate could have turned to. Why would you keep someone around who makes your family member feel bad?”

With that said, Devon will have to make some major changes in his life. He won’t be able to move on with Elena is someone like Amanda is around, especially as she is secretly tormenting him with the fact that she looks so much like his dead ex. That’s because she is a constant remind to Devon of the wife he loved and he lost. But the thing is, will Elena be willing to put up with this for too long? That’s what fans want to know!
