The Young And The Restless Rumors: Will Chelsea Con Abby?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) rumors indicate that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will regret her decision to make Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) a partner in their Grand Phoenix deal.

Last week, Abby learned from her father Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was planning to squeeze Abby out of their business dealings. Upon learning of Phyllis’ plan, Abby immediately began rethinking their deal and decided to cut Phyllis out. With Phyllis out of the Grand Phoenix deal, Abby soon found a new partner in Chelsea.

Phyllis was furious with the news, but Abby and Chelsea couldn’t help but gloat over beating Phyllis at her own game.

Abby thinks that Chelsea is a better business partner than Phyllis, however, given Chelsea’s past, Abby may have to reconsider her decision.

Everyone’s well aware of Chelsea’s past as a con artist. Prior to coming to Genoa City, Chelsea and her mother Anita Lawson (Catherine Back) swindled people out of money. Chelsea turned her life around as she settled into Genoa City and became a mother and businesswoman. However, soon Chelsea’s conning ways.

When it was discovered she was embezzling money from Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), Chelsea fled town to escape the law. Upon returning to Genoa City, any charges against Chelsea were dropped. After receiving an inheritance from her late husband Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), Chelsea is trying to make a better life for her and her son Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Realizing how much her past actions hurt others, Chelsea made a vow to her boyfriend Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that she’d never go back to being a con.

Viewers believe that Chelsea’s days of conning people aren’t over, and it’s only a matter of time before she swindles someone else. Her latest victim could be Nick’s sister Abby.

Chelsea was adamant about working with Abby, mainly to get payback on Phyllis. However, could there be another reason Chelsea wants in on the Grand Phoenix deal? Maybe she sees this as a way to get more money and is targeting Abby, waiting for the perfect moment to screw over the Newman heiress.
