Heather Tom, who plays Katie Logan, shares with Soaps In Depth, how her son Zane Alexander Achor found out that he has been recast on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Zane played Will Spencer, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Katie’s son when he was younger. Because Zane was going to school full-time, Heather thought it would be no big deal that the soap has recast the role.

One day, while Heather was catching up on an episode, Zane saw that there is a new kid playing Will. He said to his mother, “But I’m Will! I’m Will!” Heather was surprised and reached for the remote to turn off the TV.

She told her son that yes, he’s Will, but a different Will. What her son said next was even more surprising and funny at the same time. “Why did you fire me from the job?” he said.

Heather said she wished she could redo what happened. “I scarred him for life,” she said jokingly. “He’s going to be in therapy when he’s 35 saying that his mom got him fired from his first job!”

Zane played Will Spencer from 2013 to 2018. Finnegan George has taken over the role and is currently on recurring contract with The Bold and the Beautiful.

Long-time B&B fans will remember that Katie is also a heart transplant patient, which means that she is not a typical kidney patient. Her heart transplant is one of the major reasons that her kidney is failing. Her entire system is compromised, and spoilers reveal that Katie and Bill’s reaction to the news suggests that the future is grim. It is likely that dialysis simply won’t work on her given her overall health.

“My son is not losing his mother, and I’m not losing my Katie,” Bill said in a teaser video.

Will they find a compatible donor just in time to save Katie’s life? Who could it possibly be?
