The methods Atkinson’s increasingly frazzled character is using must be exposed at some point. Brooke’s tell to Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) foreshadows a coming check on Thomas, who has convinced himself that he’s in control of various people’s lives and knows what’s best for all of them.

Intimidating Flo, Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes), and Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) into staying silent about Beth was a complete turnaround. Thomas intended to immediately tell Steffy and then Hope what he learned from Flo. But the sight of a potentially reuniting ‘Steam’ with Phoebe-Beth and Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington and Chloe Teperman) at the cliff house changed Thomas’ mind.

Brooke isn’t someone who Thomas believes is a threat. As long as she maintains a neutral, or even supportive approach to him, he should continue to believe that his plans to be with Hope are progressing. That will likely keep Thomas on a path to make some type of mistake that Brooke catches and then hopefully exposes.
