The Bold and the Beautiful Rumor: Who’s The Baby Daddy Of Kelly? Bill Or Liam?

The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers tease that there may be a paternity question in the works concerning little Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington). Longtime B & B viewers will recall that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline Macinnes Wood) was on the outs with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) around the time that Kelly was conceived, and had slept with his father “Dollar” Bill Spencer (Don Diamont)!

Bold & The Beautiful Spoilers – Bill Spencer Was Hanging Around The Lab When The Paternity Test Was Done

Make no mistake, there was a paternity test done as viewers of the Bold and The Beautiful will recall. There was some question as to who was Kelly’s baby daddy, since Steffy had slept with both father and son. However, there is some difficulty with determining a baby’s paternity when the two possible fathers are so closely related. According to the DNA Diagnostics Center, A full 50% of the son’s DNA comes from his father, so if Bill and Liam are the possible fathers for Kelly, there is a high possibility of obtaining a “false positive” result if only one of the men participates in testing. Therefore, the ideal is for both men to test with the child. If this isn’t possible for whatever reason, then the lab must be notified ahead of time (so that additional analysis can be conducted) and the mother should definitely send in her DNA sample as well.

Steffy was worried when she found out that she was pregnant, because she had slept with both Bill and Liam in the same time period, although with Bill only once and it may be much less of a chance that he was the father than Liam. Bill suggested a paternity test, and Steffy agreed, but when he offered to go with her for emotional support, she turned him down; she didn’t want to be seen anywhere with him. Bill agreed, but still wondered whether he could be the father, and Steffy didn’t feel any better when the doctor tells her it only takes one time!

The doctor explained how the DNA test is done, and how it works, and clarified that it could be too early to draw fetal cells, but Steffy was anxious to find out. She had samples from each Liam and Bill, using a toothbrush from Liam’s travel kit and hair from Bill that he had pulled himself and gave her for this purpose.

B&B Spoilers – The Doctor Told Steffy Forrester That The DNA Samples Were Viable

The doctor returned and said the DNA samples were viable, and she needed to take some blood from Steffy. Steffy asked her if she could take it from a location on her body that wouldn’t be noticeable; the doctor promised to be careful and also promised she wouldn’t cause a bruise. When the results came in, Steffy was overjoyed to find out that the baby was Liam’s; however, when she left the doctor’s office, there was Bill in the hallway! Bill was happy to hear that the baby was not his, but could he have been so concerned that he might have gotten into the lab and altered the results and printed them out?

The truth that she and he had slept together did come out later when Liam found the paternity test in the trash and demanded answers, but it did show that Kelly was his. As in any soap opera where there is a paternity question, someday something might happen that might show Kelly is not his but his father’s; and then there will be more trouble for the Spencers!
