General Hospital spoilers tease of the unbelievable grief of a family who faced the unthinkable. A 16-year-old Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Lake Stitt) who passed away from a terminal, inoperable, brain tumor on the May 1 episode of General Hospital.
A new promo released by General Hospital shows the aftermath of Oscar’s death and how his family and friends deal with it.
At the end of the May 1 episode, General Hospital viewers saw Oscar escorted to the afterlife by a ghostly Edward and Lila Quartermaine (both actors passed in real life). Edward played by John Ingle and Lila played by Anna Lee, his great-grandparents. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) had been reading a book to Oscar and had fallen asleep. And as she slept, he transitioned to the afterlife.
She obviously will have woken up, and probably screamed for his parents, Drew Cain (Billy Miller) and Dr. Kim Nero (Tamara Braun). The promo starts with Kim checking Oscar’s pulse. Josslyn looks up at Drew, and he confirms what has happened, sadly saying “He’s gone”.
Kim crumbles beside Oscar in his bed and collapses around him. The next scene shows Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) looking into the room and sees Drew and Kim are both surrounding Oscar in the bed and both are crying. Joss is not shown in this scene so perhaps she went to get Monica.
Drew kisses Oscar on the cheek and tells him Oscar will be in his heart forever. Then General Hospital viewers will see what looks like a memorial bulletin board set up for Oscar at school, as there are many sticky notes from classmates about Oscar, beside a group photo of Oscar, Joss, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla).
The scene again changes, back to Oscar’s bedroom in the Quartermaine mansion, Kim still weeping, and saying she doesn’t know how to do this. A sad looking Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) tries to comfort Monica.
Next, General Hospital viewers see Kim, possibly in Oscar’s bedroom at her apartment. Or it could possibly be the nursery room in the Quartermaine mansion. She and Julian Jerome (William DeVry) sit on the floor against a wall; Julian tries to comfort a devastated Kim as she holds a teddy bear.
In the last scene, General Hospital viewers see Josslyn again, grieving and weeping over Oscar, as she tells him she’s going to love him forever. Grab your tissues, General Hospital viewers! It’s going to be a few rough days as his family and friends grieve, and arrangements are made!
