Meghan Markle Launches Her New Smart Works Capsule

Meghan Markle is bringing the pant suit back – and with some incredible style, too! The Duchess of Sussex gave a very powerful about what it means to support other women at the workplace during the launch of her new Smart Works Capsule collection. Here’s what she has to say.

Meghan Markle’s New Line For Women

According to reports, Meghan Markle launched her Smart Works collection and kicked off her post-maternity leave work with a speech about what it means to support other women in the work place. She says that while brainstorming for idea, she and her team thought a lot about transforming charity into community.

Meghan said that it’s not about digging into your own closet and giving away clothes that you don’t wear anymore. Instead, it’s about digging into your own closet, checking out that blazer that you once wore during an interview and passing it down to someone who could use the same luck that it once gave you. In other words, it’s all about sharing, uplifting, and helping others succeed in reaching their dreams of achieving their goals. She likened the blazer to being a part of another woman’s success story.

Helping Others With Their Success Story

During her speech, the Duchess said, “I think it’s really key in this day and age that we remember that it’s not just about the people that you know that you’re supporting. It’s about the people that you don’t know, that you may never know, you may never meet. As women, it is 100 percent our responsibility I think to support and uplift each other; to champion each other as we aim to succeed, to not set each other up for failure but instead to really be there rallying around each other and say, ‘I want to help you.’”

Celebrating British Style And Fashion

Meghan also noted that ever since she moved to London, she’s been wearing more British designers. During her speech, Meghan wore a crisp white shirt from her friend Misha Nonoo’s collection, trousers from Inside Jigsaw and earring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

While Meghan Markle certainly has a lot of royal engagements and public appearances ahead of her, she and Prince Harry will be going on a much-anticipated trip to South Africa with their son Archie Harrison. The trip will kick off later this month.
