Is Queen Elizabeth Having Her Most Stressful Summer Yet?

Queen Elizabeth is supposed to be enjoying her holiday break at Balmoral Castle but it looks like she’s not having her usual restful summer. That’s because the royal family has been rocked by one scandal after another, forcing the Queen to not only intervene, but take matters into her own hands. Here’s what you need to know.

Queen Elizabeth’s Very Stressful Summer Vacation

Apparently, a lot of people are concerned about Queen Elizabeth, including daytime television talk show host Lorraine Kelly. She recently went on the record on her show to say that she’s very concerned about the Queen. Between Prince Andrew’s headline-making scandal, Brexit, and everything that is going on between the Cambridges and the Sussexes, the Queen certainly has a lot of things on her mind. And unfortunately, things are looking to get worse before they get better.

Queen Elizabeth is supposed to be relaxing in a semi-retirement way at Balmoral with Prince Philip and the rest of the family. But instead, she’s been forced to deal with one crisis after another. If it’s not Prince Andrew and his sketchy ways than it’s Boris Johnson who is calling her up out of the blue. Earlier this month the Queen approved a controversial order to prorogue Parliament, with many critics calling it her most daring, if not also unpopular, move in recent years.

The Queen’s Fans Are Concerned

Lorraine said on her daily talk show, “The Queen is in Balmoral and she loves her holidays in Balmoral, of course. She loves Scotland and she loves being up there. But it’s not exactly been restful, has it? Lots and lots of things going on. She must just think ‘leave me alone so I can go and have a picnic.’”

By the time Queen Elizabeth makes her way back to Buckingham Palace, she will have plenty of work waiting for her there, too. In fact, Boris Johnson said in a statement to the press that the Queen scheduled a speech for Oct. 14. This is when he will also present his agenda.

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any additional comments.
