General Hospital’s Nathan West’s Funeral Named The Best GH Episode Of The Year

General Hospital's Nathan West's Funeral Named The Best GH Episode Of The YearThere have been some great storylines in the daytime in 2018, but none were more powerful and sad as General Hospital’s (GH) Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) funeral. It was a great send off to a wonderful character. Many GH fans are still not over how heartbreaking the episode was.

According to the Boston Herald, General Hospital used Detective West’s funeral as a way to honor the first responders who have died in the line of duty. They felt it was fitting when they considered how Nathan died. Many GH fans identified with the storyline and they felt how heartbreaking it would be to lose someone you love in that way.

During the funeral, Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) told the church how her brother Nathan would give away his spare change to the homeless as a child. She said that was who he was as a person. He just wanted to help others and do the right thing. It was pure heartbreak as the mourners remember what a great man Nathan was, remembering his kindness and generosity.

Since his departure, another sad moment was when Maxie (Kirsten Storms) had their baby. It was bittersweet because the baby will never meet him, but Maxie will forever have a piece of her beloved husband. Talk about needing a Kleenex.

The truth is, watching these two episodes, if you aren’t bawling your eyes out, you may need to check your pulse. Don’t forget to come back later for more General Hospital (GH) spoilers, news, and casting updates!
