Long-time viewers may remember Kristina Cassadine, the younger sister of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Alexis and Kristina were separated when they were very young but were later reunited as adults. Kristina was killed by a bomb set by Luis Alcazar (Ted King). Kristina Cassadine is the namesake of Kristina Davis-Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth).
Jaime Ray Newman, who portrayed Kristina Cassadine, went on from GH to hold major roles in several television programs, including Bates Motel, Wicked City, and Eastwick. But she’s also a producer, and it’s in that capacity that she has been nominated for an Academy Award.
Jaime is a producer of a short film called “Skin,” which has been nominated for Best Live Action Short Film. Her husband, Guy Nativ, wrote, directed, and produced the short as well. Guy is an acclaimed filmmaker from Israel.

The short film is based on a true story and is about the life of Byron Widner, a white supremacist, who turns away from that way of living with the help of an African-American activist and the woman he loves.
Jaime and Guy are ecstatic about their nomination. In fact, Jaime shared her excitement with her Instagram fans with a message of gratitude toward the academy: “Greatest 5am wake up call EVER! THANK YOU ACADEMY!!!! SKIN THE SHORT, nominated for Best Live Action Short 2019 Academy Awards!!!”
