General Hospital Spoilers: Twins Ella and Emma Hulen Make Port Charles Debut As Donna Corinthos!

General Hospital spoilers tease that twins Ella and Emma Hulen have joined the cast as Sonny and Carly Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard, Laura Wright) newborn, Donna Corinthos!

According to “Starkidz” this is be the Hulen Twins’ premiere television role. Donna Corinthos made her way into the world on September 30, 2019 and General Hospital decided to name the new baby after the late Donna Messina, a makeup artist loved by all on GH until her untimely death from cancer December 6, 2018 after working with General Hospital since August 26, 1982.

GH Spoilers – Donna Corinthos Is A Spina Bifida Baby

The Donna Corinthos storyline is an important one, with little Donna being a Spina Bifida Meningocele baby, meaning she was born with a partly open spine which she immediately goes into surgery to correct after her birth. Viewers will recall that Carly Corinthos was rushed to General Hospital by her husband Sonny and good friend Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) after she went into premature labor.

Even though Donna wanted to come two weeks early, with a spina bifida baby even two weeks could make a lot of difference in how serious her surgery could be, although the doctors did say it was a mild case and should be completely corrected. Little Donna’s storyline is historic in that the Spina Bifida Association has included it in their website!

General Hospital Spoilers – Donna Corinthos May Stay In The Hospital A Bit Longer Than Most Babies

Even though Carly’s medical team thinks Donna’s condition is fully correctable, she likely will spend more time in the hospital than a normal newborn, with recovery from surgery, and making sure there are no complications common with spina bifida, such as neurological deficits affecting motor skills, possibly complications with internal organ functioning and the like.

According to Soap Opera Digest fall previews, Donna, and her family, in spite of what the medical team said, will face a major health crisis that may threaten to impact the Corinthos family and they may not be left intact! Of course, that could mean the extended Corinthos family – including Bobbie Spencer, (Jacklyn Zeman) and Dr. Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) and it’s a possibility that General Hospital writers will use Donna’s condition as a vehicle to bring out the truth that Wiley Cooper-Jones (Erik and Theodore Olson) is really Jonah Corinthos!
