Nina will continue to worry and panic as Sasha continues to try to recover from the attack, although it is good that they have Dr. Hamilton Finn, (Michael Easton) an infectious disease specialist on the case; if anyone can find a cure and turn things around, he can!
History teaches that over the years, many pandemics of severe forms of influenza have killed people, one of the worst in recent history being called “The Spanish Flu” in 1918. This was the ancestor of the H1N1 and “swine flu” strains that are around today and killed between 20 and 40 million people worldwide. It started in Europe, so possibly Spain was where it was first observed, and spread as World War 1 soldiers returned from the war carrying the virus.
Even today, as General Hospital viewers undoubtedly know, influenza can kill, especially if the sufferer has an impaired immune system, such as diabetics, the elderly, small children and babies, and pregnant women.
Finn acted appropriately in putting Sasha in isolation and putting medical personnel and visitors in protective masks, gloves, and other coverings until they know exactly what they are dealing with!
Other General Hospital spoilers tease that this illness will be what brings the secret that Sasha is not really Nina’s daughter to the light, but any General Hospital fan can see that the two have bonded as if they really are mother and daughter, and it may be the relationship and the bonding that counts even if this happens.
After all, parents who adopt children love them as their own, and the children love them back. General Hospital seems to be writing a kinder, gentler, more forgiving Nina and she may interpret Valentin’s efforts to give her the child she never had as love, rather than manipulation.
After all, that is an awful lot of trouble to go to in order to deceive someone, and usually, people deceive others to harm them, not to help them and Valentin meant well, as he usually does, even though he doesn’t usually use the right methods! However, if Sasha doesn’t need a blood transfusion then there may not be much danger of this secret being revealed because of the illness; if it is going to be revealed, it may be by another method!
Valentin is also worried for Sasha, in addition to trying to keep Nina calm and both the women encouraged and comforted; after all, he doesn’t want Nina to lose her “daughter” after all the trouble that he went to finding her and bringing her to Nina! Nina would be inconsolable!
He will take any measures he can to keep Sasha alive and well! Of course, General Hospital viewers have to wonder just when Cassandra is going to send that selfie of herself and Sasha and Michael, and to whom; she took it for some reason, and it’s probably to use as a warning not to cross her, like when she showed Valentin a picture she took of Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) with a newspaper dated for the current date at that time, to use as leverage or as a warning!
