General Hospital spoilers for Monday, December 23 tease a day of Christmas cheer as one Port Charles resident possibly indulged in a little too much “Christmas cheer” and has a really strange nightmare! This will be a standalone episode featuring over 25 GH cast members in their very own version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol!”
Santa Claus has not yet arrived, but Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) appears to be keeping his throne warm at General Hospital as she tells the children and adults who have gathered that she is going to read Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. This scene appears to introduce the Dickensian twist Christmas episode, although there will be a more traditional Christmas later in the week when Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) goes to see Santa.
A scene from Dr. Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) nightmare comes next, with Roger Howarth, who also plays Franco Baldwin, showing up at the door of Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Michael Easton and saying “Merry Christmas, sir!” Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will be Mrs. Crachit in Finn’s nightmare, with Cameron Webber (William Lipton) as Peter Crachit and of course Tiny Tim will be included as well. Tiny Tim is in a big hat and we think it’s Jake Webber (Hudson West) since Aiden Webber (Jason David) is visiting his birth father, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) for the holidays.
At the General Hospital Christmas event, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) tells Finn he’s a real scrooge! We suspect many General Hospital viewers think Robert could play that part better, he’s turning into a regular curmudgeon in his old age – well, old-ER age! Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) can be seen in the background of this scene, as she has returned to Port Charles from Amsterdam, where she had been living with her husband Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) for several years.
Back to Finn’s nightmare, he as Ebenezer Scrooge opens his door to two starving children named in the original book, Innocence and Want, one of them Finn’s daughter Violet Barnes (Jophielle Love). The Ghost of Christmas Present will warn Scrooge to beware of his mockery of the starving children, as he says, “Bah, Humbug!” and shoos them away from his door, and also the warning that Tiny Tim, who he also witnessed struggling at the Crachit house, would die!
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) says “Christmas is the time to put aside our differences and spread good will” as Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is shown with Willow Tait, (Katelyn MacMullen), and Brooklyn Ashton (Amanda Setton) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) are also at the General Hospital Christmas for children. Violet, who is also seated with the rest of the children for the book reading smiles and waves, and Tracy hugs Finn.
We see Scrooge sit upright in bed awakening from his nightmare; or, if the clip is out of order in the preview, then he is waking to one with one of the three ghosts of Christmas getting ready to escort him on his next trip to either the past, present or future!
