General Hospital Spoilers: Mike Suffers Setbacks – Forced To Enter Full-Time Memory Care

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) condition will go downhill very soon. Mike has been gradually losing his memory abilities due to his Alzheimer’s disease, It has been devastating for him, and for his family as they watch his decline.
There have been several instances when Mike hasn’t remembered his son Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and it has been especially hard for Sonny to take. Both Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has been struggling due to Mike’s illness
It was a big step when Mike entered the day program at Turning Woods, a memory care facility for people with Alzheimer’s. Mike wanted to go, but Sonny, in particular, was reluctant to turn Mike over to professionals, even just during the day. Sonny wishes that he could care for Mike at home.

Soon, it seems that Mike will experience some bigger declines. GH spoilers say that Mike’s condition is going to worsen, so it looks like he is going to have some greater memory deficits, or perhaps he’ll experience greater bouts of confusion and agitation.
Of course, during the day, Mike gets the care he needs, but at night he goes home to Sonny and Carly. As his condition worsens, they may find that they can’t deal with his memory problems and confusion, at least not with the skill that the professionals can.

It seems that Sonny will soon have a question on his hands…should he send Mike to the residential program at Turning Woods? Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) will probably weigh in when she feels that the time is right for full-time care, but will Sonny resist?

We may see Sonny fight the decision a bit at first. He’s very sensitive to “sending his father away” and doesn’t want to send the message that his dad is a burden. But with a little time and some support from Carly and Stella, Sonny will reach the right decision.
Who knows, Mike may even have some moments of clarity when he can help Sonny make the decision. It would be truly beneficial for everyone if Mike were able to make the ultimate decision to enter Turning Woods as a full-time resident.
However it happens, it seems that the best thing for Mike will be to seek full-time care, and soon. Do you think Mike will be better off at Turning Woods getting round-the-clock care?
