General Hospital Spoilers: Anthony Montgomery Returns As Andre Maddox

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Anthony Montgomery will return to the show this week to reprise his role as Dr. Andre Maddox! Montgomery has been absent from the GH canvas since early 2018, when his character was released from prison and warned Drew Cain (Billy Miller) that trying to retrieve his old memories could erase any new memories he’d made. Montgomery was bumped to recurring status in 2017, when Dr. Andre Maddox went to prison.

How long Dr. Maddox and his portrayer Montgomery will stay this time around has not yet been revealed, but Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) recently gave him a call, wanting to know if she might have any of her twin sister Alex Marick’s memories. Apparently since Andre built on Dr. Arthur Cabot’s (Time Winters) work and she and Alex were the first test subjects, she will want to know if Andre has any information regarding this through Dr. Cabot’s original notes, although since they were close friends Andre undoubtedly would have revealed it to her previously.

But perhaps Cabot only called them “Patients One and Two” in his notes, without revealing their names; so it would be difficult to tell which twin was which! Cabot seems to be having some kind of close relationship with Alex, since he called her “his favorite patient” in the phone call he made to her before being hauled off to Steinmauer Prison by the WSB.

Since the twins study storyline is in its early beginnings, it’s possible Montgomery (and Andre Maddox) may be around for a while this time, since his work on the memory transfer project between Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Drew Cain (Billy Miller) may hold vital clues to the process and protocol, and possibly to be able to find out who has whose memories and which ones they are. Cabot claimed none of the previous memory transfers worked, but Alex’s history on All My Children when she was brainwashed to impersonate Anna and also to kill her could be related to this storyline if GH writers did their research!

Plus, while GH fans assume Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) survived the plunge from the footbridge so Ava Jerome (Maura West) could kill him, it’s just as possible that Ryan will need to be captured alive to make sure he and Kevin Collins don’t have swapped memories as well; that would explain Kevin’s past breakdowns thinking he was Ryan!
