General Hospital Sonya Eddy Disappointed Over Cancellation Of Her TruTV Series

“General Hospital” star Sonya Eddy, known for her role as Epiphany Johnson, is disappointed over the cancellation of the TruTV series “Those Who Can’t” in which she played the character, Tammy Sherman.

She retweeted Ben Roy’s video where he announced the sad news and in the caption of her tweet.

“So…. the news is in,” she wrote. “I can’t tell all of the fans of # That WhoCant @truTV how much I loved being a part of this! My deepest gratitude to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!”

General Hospital News – Those Who Can’t Aired For Three Years

Ben Roy responded to her tweet, thanking her for “being a constant light on set.” She immediately replied with “#ThoseWhoCant will always have a place in my heart because it led me to you, my friend! Working with you will always be a career highlight I’ll forever look on with joy! Baby, YOU ARE AWESOME!!”

She also tweeted a message to all her cast members, which said, “To my beloved castmates, Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Overdahl, Ben Roy, Maria Thayer, Rory Scovel, Randy and Jason Sklar, Susie Essman, Patton Oswalt, and the list goes on. I love you all to the moon and back!”

“Those Who Can’t” premiered on TruTv in February 2016. The series, which revolved around a group of high school teachers, ran for three seasons before the news about its cancellation made headlines.

General Hospital News – Epiphany Johnson No Nonsense Nurse

Eddy joined “General Hospital” as Epiphany in March 2006. Epiphany was a brutally honest, no-nonsense nurse. She preferred the tough love approach with her staff, who she was always so protective of.

Eddy studied English and African-American studies, with a minor in Dramatic Arts. She started her acting career playing different characters in Ruby Dee’s “Zara Is My Name.” She appeared in “Comedy of Errors,” “Into The Woods,” “Bloody Mary,” and “South Pacific.” She also appeared in films like “Coach Carter,” “Bad News Bears,” “Daddy Daycare,” “Matchstick Men,” and “Surviving Christmas.”

Her TV credits include “CSI,” “In Case of Emergency,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Monk,” “ER,” “Joan of Arcadia,” and “Seinfeld.”

Apart from acting, she is also a successful improvisation and sketch artist, vocalist, as well as a voice-over artist. She has not appeared often on “General Hospital” as of late but now that her series is cancelled you never know. Her fans can watch her on “Fresh Off The Boat,” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”
