General Hospital News: Could Andrea Evans Be The Next Nina Reeves?

Andrea Evans has more than three decades of experience when it comes to soap operas. With her talent and acting background, she could very well be the next Nina Reeves on General Hospital.

The current actress playing Nina is Michelle Stafford. She is set to leave the sudser and move to the Young and The Restless, where she will replace Gina Tognoni as Phyllis Summers.

When asked about a possible return to the soap industry, Evans didn’t think twice when she said she would love to make a comeback. “I would love to visit Port Charles or Salem!”

General Hospital News – Evans Played Tawny Moore On Bold And The Beautiful

Avid fans of soap operas and those who have been following her know Evans for her role as Tina Lord on One Life to Live. She portrayed the character on a recurring basis from 1979 to 2011. She also became part of the Bold and The Beautiful as Tawny Moore and on Passions as Rebecca Hotchkiss.

Nina Reeves’ story on GH isn’t over by a long shot. Viewers still have to find out who her real daughter is and she still needs to discover Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) deception. Although the soap’s showrunners may decide to write her out or even kill off the character, a recast is also quite possible. There are a lot of actresses who could portray the role, but Andrea Evans is definitely on top of the list.

Michelle Stafford played Phyllis Summers on Y&R when she debuted on the soap in 1994. She played the character on a recurring basis for nearly 20 years. Her career took off thanks to the Young and The Restless.

General Hospital News – Both Stafford And Tognoni Have Won Emmy Awards

During her stint on the soap, she won Emmy’s for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in 1997 and 2004, respectively. She left the soap in 2013, and a year later, she was cast on General Hospital as Nina Reeves.

Tognoni took over the role as Phyllis Summers a year after Stafford left. She’s not new to daytime soap operas. Viewers know Tognoni as Kelly Cramer on One Life to Live. She was able to meet the standards set by Stafford. She even won an Emmy for Best Actress in 2017.

“I am beyond grateful for the creative experience that ‘The Young and the Restless’ has given to me as well as the amazing relationships I made with the cast, crew/staff, producers, and writers. I love my Genoa City family,” Tognoni said on Instagram.
