EastEnders Spoilers: Charlie Brooks Speaks Out On Possible Janine Butcher Return

It’s been four years since we last saw Janine Butcher in Walford, and with other iconic characters coming back, fans have started to wonder if Janine will be one of them. Charlie Brooks’ recent comment about her character made fans speculate that she could be on her way back to Albert Square.

Charlie Brooks said earlier this month that she could think about Janine being “a hippy on the beach” and that Janine has the ability “to be anyone and go anywhere.”

But in her recent appearance on “Good Morning Britain,” Brooks was asked about the rumors. She said it is a no now, but she did not completely rule out coming back to “EastEnders.” “You know, never say never.”

“I don’t have plans to go back at the moment,” she clarified. Brooks added that she is currently busy doing theater and she feels lucky to be playing challenging characters.

Her most recent project is “All in a Row,” which has been controversial because it uses a puppet as a child with autism. Brooks defended the play, saying that puppetry is a powerful tool because it is engaging. She also encouraged the critics to see it first before they make any judgment.

Charlie Brooks debuted the role of Janine Butcher in 1999 and became Walford’s bad girl. She left the country in 2014 to build her life again after she was found innocent of murdering her husband, Michael Moon. She went to France to be reunited with her daughter Scarlett, who is being taken care of by her sister Diane.

Fans have calling for her return, with one saying that she could help bring back “EastEnders” on track and she’s one of the few characters who could do so. Among the characters who recently returned or are about to make a comeback are Danielle Harold as Lola Pierce and Rob Kazinsky as Sean Slater. Max Bowden has been booked as a recast of Ben Mitchell.
