There’s a new report that suggests the Duchess of Sussex might have “stepped into a snake pit” when she married the royal family, meaning that she’s forced to fight for a lot of things on almost a daily basis. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Fox News, British television host Richard Madeley hints that Meghan Markle might not last very long in her new role as a Duchess. Simply because life behind palace doors isn’t as easy as one would think.

Meghan Markle Has Been Scrutinized In Similar Fashion To Princess Diana

While there are a lot of fans who have shown their love and support for Meghan this past year, there are also plenty of critics who have scrutinized the Duchess just like they once did with her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Madeley made his comments during an interview with Good Morning Britain.

Madeley suggests that the good times might already be over as there seems to be a negative headline about Meghan Markle in the media each and every day.

“Isn’t it extraordinary how the honeymoon with the public that Harry and Meghan had has faded so quickly?” he noted. “Pretty much in a year, it’s gone.”

British TV Host Believes Things Will Get Worse Before They Get Better

Madeley also says that while being a member of the royal family certainly isn’t for the weak, it’s also very hard to be resilient with such a position. While Meghan Markle has managed to navigate her new royal life pretty well despite being under so much pressure, Madeley thinks that things will get worse before they get better.

“Personally, I feel a bit sorry for Meghan,” continued Madeley. “I think she’s stepped into a snake pit. Diana stepped into a snake pit. I think she’s going to have to learn pretty sharpish how to play the odds down there because it’s a rough old world in the rough family when you’re that high profile. I think she’s learning that.”
