It was pleasant news for the viewers of “The Bold and the Beautiful” that Denise Richards was joining the daytime soap as Shauna Fulton. Richards is known for her roles in various TV series and films such as “Two and a Half Men,” “90210,” “Twisted,” “Saved by the Bell,” “Married With Children,” and “Melrose Place.”
Denise Richards Talks Joining Bold And The Beautiful As Shauna Fulton
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Richards revealed why she accepted the role of Shauna on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” As it turned out, daytime soap is something she has not done before.
“I thought it would be something fun and different,” Richards shared. “I had a wonderful conversation with Bradley Bell [executive producer/head writer] and it was just out of my usual comfort zone, which made it even more appealing.”
Friend Lisa Rinna Gave Denise Richards Guidelines
Richards did not go on the show unarmed, as she has some guidelines from her friends who had experienced in soaps and had a great time. She’s friends with Lisa Rinna, who played Billie Reed on “Days of Our Lives,” and Darin Brooks, who currently portrays Wyatt Spencer on B&B.
While her first day went smoothly because she had only one scene, her first week was nothing short of challenging, especially when she shot three episodes in just one day. “I believe I had over 50 pages of dialogue, and it was a little daunting because it was the most pages I’ve ever done in a day, but I got through it, I knew my lines and I was thrilled about that,” she revealed.

Richards shared the Rena Sofer, who plays Quinn Fuller, has been kind to tell her some tips and show her the ropes of the soap opera. “I really like her and it helps so much to have someone be able to be supportive and be there.”
Meanwhile, Richards also talked about being on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” where she finished filming before joining B&B. It was another exciting new experience for her to be on the reality show, where she instantly became a fan favorite because of her laid back approach in life.

She felt flattered by the way RHOBH viewers have accepted her on the show because she really doesn’t know how they would perceive her or if they would really like her as a person.
“I didn’t know if people would be into who I am because it’s different from some of the other women. But I never wanted to be something that I wasn’t, and that could go either way. Because people know who I am, I want to be myself on it no matter what,” Richards confessed.
