The two were engaged previously when Rex sabotaged himself by acting like a high school player instead of a grown man with responsibilities.

He not only cheated on Sarah with his ex and got her pregnant, but he also cheated on her with her own sister.  In the words of his mother, Rex is clueless when it comes to women. Could Sarah just be setting herself up for more heartache from Rex if she accepts his proposal?

Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) certainly thinks so. She recently warned Sarah against getting involved with Rex again when he showed up in Salem. Rex was the whole reason Sarah left her medical career in Chicago and came to Salem.

She had heard Rex had returned to his own medical career as a doctor in Chicago at a hospital where they both had worked. Luckily for Sarah, there was an opening at Salem University Hospital and Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) hired her on.

Besides, Sarah may be fighting feelings and may be in denial about her attraction to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn). Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that she had a steamy dream about Eric. He is also harboring feelings for Sarah and continues to speak with his mother, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) about his feelings.

It would be wise for Sarah not to rush into a marriage with Rex, who may not be so ready to settle down himself. Some men think they love women, but are really more addicted to the conquest. Once they’ve gotten what they want, there’s no excitement for them anymore and they move on. Rex certainly seems to fit that description.
