Days of Our Lives spoilers for Friday, October 18 tease of another exciting day of drama for Days of Our Lives viewers!
Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) apologizes to his sister Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley). He had wrongly assumed that Jordan was behind the wheel of the car that nearly hit his girlfriend, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), but Salem Police and Detective Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) found evidence that a drunk driver was at fault. Ben will apologize for this incident that he wrongly accused her of, but he may still not totally trust her; and he will be right not to!
Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) strange behavior continues, and as viewers saw in Thursday’s episode, her neck is starting to hurt from where Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) implanted whatever it was he implanted near the base of her neck! She’s becoming increasingly cranky and biting people’s heads off when they approach her nicely, like when Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) saw her sitting on the park bench clutching her neck.
She also seems as if she cannot concentrate, as when she seemed to be somewhere else when told that her sister Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) had woken up from her heart transplant, and when she stared at the rosary. Something is definitely off, and friends and family are noticing!
Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) struggles to keep the truth about Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) pregnancy with his child from Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). She doesn’t feel it’s right to keep such important news from him, but then she doesn’t know how he will react either – she feels like she and Eric are solid, but would he, as Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) had suggested, feel torn between Nicole and the mother of his child,
Sarah, or would they successfully be able to co-parent, with Nicole and Eric staying together? Nicole will go over all these scenarios in her mind as she feels guilty for keeping the truth from him, and yet be afraid what will happen if she does!
Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) will tell Gabi DiMera, (Camila Banus) Eli Grant, (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price (Sal Stowers) that Julie isn’t quite out of the woods yet. Kayla runs more tests and reveals that Julie has bradycardia; this has nothing to do with the Brady family although it is an interesting coincidence! It means her new heart is beating too slowly, at less than 60 beats a minute. This would be the opposite of tachycardia, when the heart rate is too rapid, 100 or more beats a minute or faster.
While it is not necessarily life threatening, it could indicate that the heart is not working right, and if it decreased too much, then it could be life threatening. Kayla and the team will need to see Julie’s resting heart rate between 60-80 for optimum performance, but no higher than 90 for her age to be comfortable with releasing her. Kayla will need to find out why Julie’s new heart is beating so slowly and try to correct the problem.
