Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal what is wrong with Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton (the May twins). The infant has cancer and her parents, as well as Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will be heartbroken and devastated. This storyline affected actress Linsey Godfrey, who portrays Sarah Horton in a major way. As some fans may recall, the actress is a cancer survivor herself.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Mackenzie ‘Mickey’ Horton’s Cancer Diagnosis
DOOL spoilers from the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest confirmed that baby Mickey has a cancer called neuroblastoma. Since Salem is a small town, this will prompt Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Sarah to find the best treatment and specialists possible. They will end up heading to Boston with their little girl, who is only six months old.
DOOL Spoilers – Xander Cook Kiriakis’ Heartbreak
Godfrey told the magazine that Sarah tells her mother, Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) what is happening. Maggie encourages Sarah to tell Xander what is happening, even though she has been ordered by Eric to do otherwise. Xander is not Mickey’s biological father, but he was there for the whole pregnancy, as well as the first six months of Mickey’s life.
Expect Eric to spy on Sarah and find her with Xander. He gets angry and even though Xander begs Eric to put their differences aside, the former priest has no intention of doing anything of the sort. This is finally when Sarah steps in and gives Eric a piece of her mind.
“Sarah basically kind of lays into Eric like, ‘I get it. I know that you don’t want him around and all that but I need him. He’s been my support system.’”
Days of Our Lives Spoilers – Greg Vaughan and Linsey Godfrey Temporarily Exit
Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that both Vaughan and Godfrey will be gone temporarily. Their characters will take Mickey to Boston for treatment.

DOOL Spoilers – Reminder of Personal Story
Right before Godfrey’s 18th birthday, she was diagnosed with cancer. Fans may have noticed the ribbon tattoo that the actress has on her skin and made the connection a long time ago. Also, the soap star has been quite open about a lot of her health struggles. Godfrey recalls her mother dealing with her child being diagnosed with cancer.
“And I’m a cancer survivor, so I remember what it was like. I keep joking that Mickey’s gonna get hit by a car next and that they’re just doing my life as Mickey’s storyline. But for me, I remember what it was like for my mom watching me go through it and finding out and having to do treatment for me.”
