Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Robert Scott Wilson understands those fans who don’t see his alter ego Ben Weston as a good partner for Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal). He gets why they are hesitant given Ben’s complicated history on the show.
However, he is in awe of the Days writing team for transforming his character from a murderer to a leading romantic man on the soapy series. Here’s what Wilson had to say about Ben and his amazing transformation.
At first, Wilson said no one liked his character. He recalled seeing on social media that many DOOL fans just wanted him locked up for good or to leave Salem. Wilson recalls people calling him a serial killer and other negative things. However, recently, those comments are so much less and the naysayers are now the minority.
Days Of Our Lives News – Fans Love Ben Weston, The Loner And Antihero
Robert knows that one of the reasons Ben is becoming popular with the fans is he’s special. There is no one like him. He’s a loner and an antihero. Even though he was scared of accidentally hurting Ciara because he felt he had a “monster” inside him, he did everything he could to protect her. It really touched many DOOL fans.

After Ben was hauled off to a mental hospital, he knew he’d be back for another run. He recalled TPTB at DOOL calling him and thanking him for doing such a great job.
He remembered Albert Alarr (co-executive producer) telling him that he would find a way to bring Ben back and better than ever. And, that’s exactly what he did.
Days Of Our Lives News – NBC’s Plans To Change The Character Worked Out
“Here’s the thing—I thought I’d come back as the old Ben that we all knew and some loved and I would toss gas on a fire,” Wilson told Soap Opera Digest. “But NBC had other plans and their plans worked out.”
“I love Ben and felt like there was so much more to tell about his story. After going back and forth, in March I ended up with a contract.”
Wilson agrees that the biggest question mark for Ben is if he will return to his murdering ways. Many fans wonder if he is only changed because of the drug therapy he received in the mental hospital or if he is truly a changed man.
Do you think Ben is a changed man? Do you want him and Ciara to make it work between them? Don’t forget to come back later for more Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers, news, and casting updates!
