Days Of Our Lives News: Kate Mansi Reveals Why She Returned For Abigail’s Exit Storyline

“Days of Our Lives” gave Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) a beautiful sendoff. After all these years, Abby and Chad ended up together and left Salem in search of a fresh start.

In an interview with Soaps In Depth, Mansi shared her reasons why she accepted the offer to return to “Days of Our Lives” and reprise her role as Abby.

“I felt like there was some unfinished business,” she told the publication. Mansi shared that the material she worked on for eight weeks to film Abby’s exit from the soap proved to be satisfying.

“This experience was more like a film in that I knew that there would be a start, a middle, and an end, and I knew what I was coming back for. It was appealing to me to give the audience what I think they rightfully deserved and had been rooting for: a happy ending!”

Her comeback also felt “surreal and familiar,” the actress said. Since she portrayed the character for quite a long time, Mansi said that it has been a part of her.

She also praised Tyler Christopher (ex-Stefan DiMera) for his acting. Christopher had joined “Days of Our Lives” while Mansi was not around. Mansi said that Tyler had been great to work with and he bought a lot of heart to his character.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Chabby Reunion Was A Long Time Coming

Regarding Chad and Abby getting back together, Mansi said: “It’s like the proof was in the pudding. They renewed their commitment to each other and their family, and had the opportunity to experience who the other person was now instead of just repeating the same narrative.”

Kate Mansi first played Abigail in 2011. She recently wrapped up production for Miss Staken, where she worked with brothers Joey, Matthew and Andrew Lawrence. Mansi played “a security guard at a marketing firm who winds up passing herself off as someone else when her idea for a campaign gains notice.”

She also appeared in the TV movies Mommy Group Murder, Nightclub Secrets. She guest starred on How I Met Your Mother and Small Shots TV series.

Mansi revealed she is working on developing a new project, so her fans should have something to look forward to from the star.
