Best known for her Coronation Street character Michelle Connor, actress Kym Marsh denied rumors that she will appear on Strictly Come Dancing or I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! after her exit from the soap. Marsh acknowledged both shows are great but she is not leaving Coronation Street to appear on reality TV.
In an interview, the actress revealed that her daughter Emilie is expecting to give birth to her grandson this coming summer. This greatly influenced her decision to leave Coronation Street, which she’s been part of for 13 years.
During her stay on the cobbles, Michelle was part of major storylines, like having a miscarriage and making a shocking discovery that her son was a killer.
Coronation Street – Extended Break, Not A Final Farewell
Viewers have no clue yet as to how long Marsh plans to step away from the cobbles. A soap spokesperson hinted her absence is more like an extended break instead of a final farewell.
While Corrie writers get busy on writing a fitting exit storyline for fan-favorite Michelle Conner, fans can rest easy, knowing they won’t be seeing the last of the character after Marsh leaves the soap.
“Kym has done a fantastic job. She has brought incredible heart and humanity to some hugely important stories. We will be really sad to lose her when she goes but totally understand that, after dedicating herself to the show for so long she now fancies trying something else,” Coronation Street’s executive producer John Whiston said.
Coronation Street – Marsh Is Excited About Her Acting Future
The 42-year-old actress is keeping an open mind about future work. “Other actresses from the show have gone on to do other incredible acting work, so who knows! It’s scary but I’m also really excited about what the future holds,” she said.
"I'm going to ask her to marry me." ?

Marsh added her departure will give her time to take a much needed rest and to “spread her wings.” She’s also excited to finally have a chance to bond with her family, especially her daughter and soon to be born grandson.
