Bold And The Beautiful’s Katrina Bowden Talks What’s Ahead For Flo

Katrina Bowden debuted her character on “The Bold and the Beautiful” Florence “Flo” Fulton in January. Since her first appearance, she’s been involved in major storylines.

That includes Dr. Reese Buckingham’s (Wayne Brady) shocking baby swap scheme just so he could get his hands on the cash he needs to pay off his debts. She considers her role as “draining but fun” and she takes pleasure on playing “really intense, emotional scenes.”

Flo instantly became an accessory to the crime when she pretended to be the mother of a baby girl who Reese offered to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) for adoption. Although it was already too late when she found out the truth, Bowden wasn’t keen on making excuses for the actions of her character.

“She wasn’t right in this, obviously,” Bowden told CBS Soaps In Depth. “She said yes before thinking things through and got in way over her head.”

Flo agreed to go along with Reese’s scheme at first so she can get close to him. The attraction she once felt was replaced with resentment after she found out the truth and for “bringing her into this mess.”

As if things weren’t complicated enough, Reese’s daughter, Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) stumbled upon the truth. Bowden said Flo is “really sick of Zoe telling her what to do every two seconds!”

Just when she’s about to consider Zoe’s suggestion to leave town and bring the secret with her, Flo reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), thus, making things more complicated.

“I wasn’t really surprised by that, because in my audition, I’d actually read with Darin,” Bowden added. “So I suspected something was going to happen there, but it’s all very interesting to get to learn about our families’ history.” Flo’s strong connection with Wyatt has put his relationship with current girlfriend Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in serious jeopardy, of course.

“Oh yeah — Flo’s still totally in love with him. He’s the guy she’s never gotten over,” she added.

It seems like Flo isn’t going anywhere, especially with the recent arrival of her mother Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards). Bowden described her on-screen mother as a strong-willed single mom whom she shares a “very close” bond with. She was thankful for getting the privilege of welcoming someone like Richards into the show. “I’m still very new, too, but it was nice to show her what I’ve learned so far. She’s awesome.”
