Unless there’s a dramatic soapy shift, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is primed to accept Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) move-in offer on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Nowhere on the Genoa City radar until it suddenly appeared, the unanticipated get-together at Summer’s (Hunter King) condo earlier this year sparked what will become a full ‘Phick’ reboot.

Hardcore Y&R fans were extremely familiar with all things ‘Phick’ when Michelle Stafford was filling her iconic daytime role, which started in 1994 and ended in 2015. This time around is different, which is why this sequel could prove intriguing.

Oh, it’s understandable that ‘Shick’ fans evidenced a collective horrific reaction the instant they saw that Y&R had paired Nick and today’s Phyllis a handful of months ago. They knew at that moment that the long-awaited reunion between their favored couple was either likely to be dashed, or be doomed. The way it all played out denied fans even a tidbit of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick’s remarried life.

Sharon’s throw-off meant that Nick would rebound to Phyllis. Where else would he go, considering the dark ‘Phick’ history that was first written in 2005 and what developed earlier this year?

Interestingly, Nick’s Jabotique launch party reflections showed him splitting memory time between his real dance with Phyllis and an imagined one with Sharon. This makes Phyllis’ coming decision to accept Nick’s offer to move into his new house, that was bought with Sharon in mind, somewhat ominous, rather than a storyline sealer.

Is it possible that Y&R is purely teasing? Nick may be thinking of Phyllis as Sharon’s replacement, which would be somewhat similar to his thirteen-year-old line of thought. Phyllis is the rebound lady once again, which Sharon Nick’s eventual destination?

For her part, Phyllis is definitely not in love with Jack (Peter Bergman), who made himself available and remains within reach. As for his brother, well, Billy (Jason Thompson) ended ‘Philly’ and seems to have moved on. So, Nick is Phyllis’ safe, go-to option. That’s why she’ll take it and see if revisited history proves different for today’s edition of this character.
