“Young and the Restless” spoilers for Tuesday, January 1, tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Dr. Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) will be stuck in a jam. At the police station, all three men are in different holding cells. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) takes his turn with each of them, so they face plenty of questions and threats.
Nate insists that his role in the kidnapping was only about taking care of Nikki Newman. That was all that mattered. Nate adds that Nikki’s the one who’s suffering while he’s locked up. He pushes Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) to let him head back to the hospital and she eventually agrees to it.
Rey does some bickering with Victor as well. However, it isn’t long until Rey turns his attention to Nick. Despite Rey’s best efforts, Nick refuses to help him take down his dad. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) looks rough from his drunken New Year’s Eve. He shares his concerns about Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) and gets some encouragement from Devon.

Over with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she freaks when she can’t get in touch with missing Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu). Victoria gives Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) the news about Reed’s admission and frets about him going to the cops. She fishes for info at the police station, but Reed isn’t there.
Afterward, Victoria gives Nikki updates on Nick and Victor’s predicament. Christine also arrives to speak with Nikki. She mentions the kidnapping, but Nikki takes full responsibility. She argues that it was her idea and she went willingly. Nikki even threatens to sue Christine for wrongful prosecution if she pursues this angle.
When Devon shows up to rant about Nate’s arrest, Christine reveals that they’re not filing charges. However, that doesn’t mean Victor’s getting off the hook entirely. Rey pushes Chris to charge Victor with murder back at the station. She doesn’t know if they have enough proof, but Rey feels like this has to be done now.
Christine surrenders and tells Victor he’s being charged with the murder of J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). It sounds like Victor’s problems are getting worse by the second! At Cane’s house, Victoria marches in and confronts him about Charlie Ashby’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) behavior. She reveals that Charlie’s car was involved in the hit-and-run, which launches a massive argument.
