It looks like there is just as much drama going on off screen as there is on screen at The Young and The Restless this week. Apparently, a lot of people aren’t very pleased over many things that have happened on the CBS soap.
Add to this the fact that Eileen Davidson, who plays Ashley on the show, is leaving has a lot of cast and fans talking. Earlier this week Peter Bergman said he feels absolutely devastated over the news.
Now actor Eric Braeden has chimed in with his thoughts, too on a new video the Y&R official twitter account posted. As a matter of fact, Eric even retweeted a fan that suggested executive producer and show runner Mal Young should be fired from the show.
It all began when the official Twitter account for The Young and the Restless posted a tweet about Y&R legacy and a video where members of the cast talked about what Y&R means to them.
We asked some of our cast about the #YR legacy, and now it’s your turn! Tell us what it means to you. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/aiC6pWFQz4

Eric then posted a rather angry tweet and listed most of the actors and actresses who are no longer on the show. He wrote, “They asked WHO about what the Y&R legacy meant to them??? How about asking Jess WALTON, TRACY BREGMAN, DOUGIE DAVIDSON, EILEEN DAVIDSON, CHRISTIAN Le BLANC, GREG RIKART, CHRYSTAL KHALIL, LAURALEE BELL, MISHAEL MORGAN etc!!”

If that weren’t enough, the #FireMalYoung hashtag started to pick up pace after Eric retweeted a fan who made the suggestion. Another person wrote, “It’s sickening to say the least I don’t watch & I won’t until Y&R is fixed! Taking away legacy should be fraud, especially to viewers whom made the soap it had become! #FireMalYoung Save our Veterans.”
Another person wrote, “Haven’t watched since they treated Doug Davidson so poorly. It saves time not watching and just reading comments sporadically. #firemalyoung @YandR_CBS.”
Amen! And why would they ask a newbie that has NEVER even seen the first episode? C’mon! #FireMalYoung
