General Hospital: Why Was Sam So Cold To Jason Morgan When He Returned?

General Hospital spoilers showed that when Jason Morgan [Steve Burton] first returned to Port Charles,Sam was incredibly cold to him,  Jason along with most Jasam fans have often wondered why.

Sam Sent Jason To The Pier That Night

Maybe Sam [Kelly Monaco] blames herself for Jason being shot, after all, he did offer to call Max and Milo that night but Sam told him to go. Sam always knew what Jason’s job was and she never tried to stop him but maybe she regrets pushing him to go the time he wanted to send someone else.

Sam Didn’t Follow Her Instincts

Sam could simply be mad at herself for not knowing that Drew [Billy Miller] wasn’t Jason. Any woman who has been with a man for years knows her man, the frozen excuse does not work because of the simple fact that size should not change due to freezing.

The technique should not change either. Furthermore, Sam’s instincts should have told her that Jake doe was not her husband Jason, he acted nothing like Jason with memory loss before so why would she not see this? Sam felt from the night Jason disappeared that he was still alive, but Jake Doe chose Liz over her. Sam still didn’t figure it out that he was not Jason.

No Physical Attraction

Sam and Jake Doe had no physical attraction at all. Sam kissed this man when he was revealed to supposedly be Jason, he felt nothing. Sam chose to stay with Patrick and make a family with him. Jake Doe threw Sam out of Liz’s house and chose Liz.   They had no connection at all until they broke up with their respective partners. Just more proof that HE was not Jason…

Sam Didn’t Totally Trust Drew

Sam did not feel like she could trust Drew with the knowledge that she was pregnant when it was possible she had Malaria. Sam also didn’t trust Drew when she was having hallucinations and Drew certainly didn’t pick up on her health issues. Jason would have known something was wrong and urged Sam to get help instead of telling her to get a message.

Sam Allowed Drew To Be Disrespectful To Jason

Sam would have never been ok with anyone being disrespectful to Jason but she let Drew talk to him like he was dirt on their shoes. Not to mention that everything was about Drew and nothing was about Jason. Sam didn’t seem to give a damn about Jason’s feelings from day one. It came across like she was mad at him for coming home. Sam would have reacted much more like Patrick did when Robin returned.

Sam Still Coddles Drew

Sam still acts like Jason should be Drew’s keeper and helps every time he needs something. Sam’s latest effort was to ask Jason to help break Peter out of jail to get the flash drive with Drew’s memories. Sam seems to believe that Jason should be her beck and call guy and think nothing of doing whatever she asks.

Sam is certainly not beyond guilting Jason into doing things to help Drew even if it consists of bringing up the past and things she claimed to accept.

I’m not sure if these writers are trying to alienate Jasam fans or just have no idea how to let them work together without involving Drew, but you can bet that Sam wouldn’t be asking this if it had been Patrick or Silas that she was with when Jason came home. Any other man would have been dropped like a hot potato and frankly, drew should be no different.

Almost Getting Killed Was A Wake-Up Call

It actually took almost getting killed in an explosion for Sam to open her eyes and admit she was only herself with Jason. Samantha McCall Morgan was always an emotional person and she would have been in tears when Jason returned, it would not have taken an act of God to open her eyes.

So what was the real issue with Sam? Was it the fact that it took five years to escape? The fact that she sent Jason to the pier that night? Or could it be that Sam herself felt like a failure for one, not being about to find Jason?

Two, for giving up on the real Jason when she knew Drew was different. Or Three, did Sam just feel stupid for not knowing the truth all along and looking when Faison told her Jason didn’t die that night?
